What we do know about tonight’s opening ceremony is that it cost £27m and it’ll star some farm yard animals. Yet there’s a lot we don’t know about thanks to the success of #savethesurprise and some vigilant policing by the likes of YouTube. These are some of the rumours…
James Bond will be making some sort of appearance.
The Queen certainly will. Her Majesty will declare the Games officially open.
Prince William will fly a helicopter.
Artificial rain will be used (although there could be some of the real stuff tonight).
Paul McCartney will close the show (doesn’t he always). Ringo Starr may join him.
Adele and Leona Lewis have been linked with appearances.
Fireworks at the end of the show could last as long as 30 minutes. -
