  • Day 6 - and it was the day that the medals just kept coming for Team GB. We won three gold and three silver medals plus many other strong performances and plenty of drama as well.

Cycling: Chris Hoy, Jason Kenny and Philip Hinde won Gold in the men's sprint final. But Victoria Pendleton and Jess Varnish were relegated in the women's team sprint and lost out on a medal. The omens were looking good as Varnish and Pendleton smashed the world record earlier in qualifying.

Canoe Slalom: Gold and silver for Team GB. Tim Baillie and Etienne Scott took gold. David Florence and Richard Hounslow won the silver medal.

Shooting: Team GB's Peter Wilson won gold in the men's double trap final at Royal Artillery Barracks.

Judo: Gemma Gibbons won a silver medal for Team GB in an emotional victory in the women's -78kg division.

Rowing: First medal won today by Team GB's men's lightweight four, who claimed a silver. All 13 Team GB boats have qualified for final events.

Tennis: Andy Murray beat Nicolas Almagro 6-4, 6-1, in the men’s quarter-finals. Next up will be Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals. Andy Murray and Laura Robson made it through as well in the mixed doubles.

Swimming: Rebecca Adlington has qualified for tomorrow's 800m freestyle final (she will be watched by Boris Johnson and Rupert Murdoch amongst others).
