Some better news for Great Britain. Superb cross-country rides by Nicola Wilson and Mary King at Greenwich Park have turned up the heat on Germany and Australia who were ahead of Britain over night. Conditions were treacherous with seven of the first 27 combinations falling. -

Diving: Tom Daley, who spoke to BBC One following this afternoon's diving session said:The crowd have been amazing, I'm getting emotional thinking about it. It was all we dreamed of and to come fourth was so agonising after training so hard. We've got the individual events to look forward to and hopefully we'll get back on our game.

-
Diving: Daley added:It started really well and we got personal best on the first two dives, and the third dive was really good, but the fourth was not good enough. You miss one dive and you are gone. Seventy one points in a competition like this, it is unheard of to finish fourth still. We needed just another nine points, which we normally can do, but it is the way sport goes. It's annoying but what can you do?
