Taekwondo: Garcia scores three points early on with a head shot but the British coach appeals. However it was unsuccessful, replays showing Muhammad was kicked squarely in the face. The Spaniard scores two more points and then another late on and Muhammad is unable to find a response. The Brit crashes out in the quarter-finals. -

BMX: Liam Phillips' third semi-final heat is just about to get going and after having two very good first heats, he just needs a steady race here to qualify for the final. He makes a great start and is second, although slips down to fourth after a mistake. He works his way back into third but is then pushed back down to fourth by Colombia's Jimenez on the line. Phillips progresses to the final as the third qualifier from his semi-final. -

What would the Olympics be without love? www.independent.co.uk -
Best of the Olympics: I'm already storing up some fantastic Olympic memories. But among the obvious, there are also some surprising moments. Such as the France v Canada bronze medal game in women's football which France totally and utterly dominated for 89 minutes. And then Canada scored the only goal to win in the last few seconds. The French coach, Bruno Bini, summed it all up afterwards: "Sometimes you can give everything and it is not enough. It is like a love story. You can give a lot and the other person still walks away". Athletics: Looking forward to seeing Mo Farah back on the track tomorrow night in the 5000m final? Prep yourselfs with the help of The Independent's Cahal Milmo.. www.independent.co.uk -
Closing ceremony: Spare tickets for the closing ceremony? Surely the 'empty seats' saga is not rearing its ugly head again? The show will start at 9pm on Sunday but its content is a secret. One rumour though is Kate Bush coming out of retirement to perform Running Up That Hill. Read more here... www.independent.co.uk
