Immortal. Alistair walks across the line, soaking up moment. Jonny third, - 31 secs. Would have missed silver by a second. #indyolympicsby cahalmilmo via twitter 8/7/2012 12:41:12 PM -
Sailing: Nick Dempsey on his RS:X silver medal:It's been a pretty difficult four years but I always believed I could come here and do well and just massively relieved more than anything.
It's been really tough, especially the Dutch having such a good start, it was tough coming to terms with the fact I was racing for second and hoping he'd make a mistake and he didn't so I was very quickly only ever going to be second.
But I was desperate to finish second because third would have been a disaster. I'm just massively happy and glad I could do it for the people that have helped me. -

Alistair Brownlee following his gold medal win:It feels a bit underwhelming because Johnny has collapsed, but, no, it is fantastic. The race was unbelievable and the crowds were amazing. My ears are still ringing from all that noise.
I am massively proud. The pressure was stacked up and so many things put to bed today.
To get two British brothers on the podium, you could not ask for more and with Stuart Hayes we really were a team of three. Today we had a plan and we executed it really well. -

Sailing: Team GB's Luke Patience and Stuart Bithell now guaranteed of silver in their first olympic regatta in the men's 470. Just a few points behind in the medal race on Thursday so gold is not impossible. The only scare? When they finished their race just now they weren't sure if they still had one lap to do (they didn't!). -

#SynchronisedSwimming @jennartweets + @olivia_federici are up 6th in today's final after a stunning performance yesterday. Good luck ladies!
