Gymnastics: Ann Tweddle, Beth's mother, just spoke on the BBC:If she doesnt get it [the gold medal], she said she's got three World and six Euopean titles. She really doesn't care what colour [medal] it is. As long as she comes away feeling she's done her best we'll be happy. I just want her to be happy.

Athletics: Osagie on his qualification:I was relaxed and felt comfortable. Was outside qualifying until the last couple of metres but I didnt panic. I'm renowned for being rubbish in heats but I'm sure I'll be fine tomorrow evening. We're trying to match the crowd with our performances.

Canoe sprint: Tim Brabants on his K1 Kayaking final qualification:Unfortunately I drew the outside lane one and I knew I'd have my work cut out because of the way the wind blows across the lake but the crowd gave me a lift. It was a tight race and I'm pleased I made the final. I'm not in Beijing shape but you've got to be in the final to compete for gold. Any guy could win, they are all such good athletes. I feel good, anything could happen in the final.

Rimmer told the BBC:I'm shocked. Shocked. I just wanted to make sure I got in the top three to qualify for the semi-finals. I was confident taking it on but my legs didnt have a change of gears. In Portugal at the training camp I was PBing every session. I'm confused.
